At David G. Tennett Piano Rebuilding and Refinishing we perform complete piano restorations using the finest material and parts available today. There are many terms that are used to describe the work needed on your instrument. Piano restoration, piano rebuilding , piano reconditioning and piano refurbishing are just a few of the terms that are used to describe what your instrument might need. We will restore your Steinway, Mason & Hamlin, Chickering, Knabe, Baldwin and many other fine pianos back to their original condition. We start the restoration process by coming to your home for a complete evaluation of your instrument. From the evaluation we can determine what the needs of your instrument may be. We can discuss all the alternatives in which to perform the work that is needed on your instrument. We specialize in complete restoration of pianos from arranging the transportation of your instrument, soundboard replacement, total replacement of action parts and hand rubbed lacquer finishes. There are many times during the restoration that you will be involved in the process. You will be invited to the shop to see your piano disassembled and in various stages of the restoration process. At that time the piano is striped and sanded to the bare wood. You will then be able to pick the stain for your piano or maybe you might decide on a hand rubbed ebony satin finish. It’s your choice!!!!!! After the finishing process is complete we install your new soundboard, guild your piano plate gold and hand stencil it. We then install your new pinblock and string the piano. The next step is to install your new damper action and dampers and complete the action work and regulation. Now the piano is ready for tuning and voicing and all the fine adjustments. After all this is complete you are invited to the shop to inspect and play and enjoy your beautifully restored instrument. At any time during restoration you are welcome to visit and to view the different stages of your instruments restoration. Also we would like to maintain your instrument after delivery to keep the instrument top notch condition so you and your children will enjoy the piano for many years to come!
